---------------- Posted: February 28, 2013 Wait Until Dark is still in the editing process. As per usual, there have been problems with the project. This time it is with the video files transfer from the big camera to the hard drive. And for the two hour show (slightly less because I cut some of the end of act 1 and beginning of act 2 simply to save space) it is a grand total of 120GB, from just this one camera. So, I have been unable to make it much past the process of the audio editing stage. However, audio editing I've found, is the much more difficult step in the process, especially when it comes to shows filmed at the Footlight Club. More specifically, shows which do not utilize house wireless mictophone systems into which I can tap and I place microphones at various points on the stage, the audience and elsewhere, are the most challenging. The challenging comes in that it is delicate to be sure there is adequate coverage since each set is configured diferently and all actors project diferently, and then mixing the several monaural signals into a faux-stereo source. It makes me happy when a show like Wait Until Dark turns out to have very easy audio! Thanks FLC! Anyways, in the coming days I'll be testing a secoond video data transfer and I have high confidence that this will solve the issue. After this point there will be a few days in which I will edit the video and render the final file. Check back here for details. Posted: May 05, 2012 I've experienced a rendering failure for Wild Party, see below:
- Source File: C:\Users\SCOTTO~1\AppData\Local\Temp\Wild Party.prproj DVD version availability has been pushed to approximately May 11, 2012. Blu-ray copies will be available sometime after that as you see below the rendering time is significantly longer and requires much more processing power. Twenty four hours will be soley dedicated to making that file, probably overnight next weekend, May 19-20.
Posted: April 29, 2012 Alright! The video of The Footlight Club's presentation of Andrew Lippa's "Wild Party" is almost finished. Sound editing is complete* and draft copies are presently being rendered** to be tested on DVD and Blu-ray discs. This test helps determine the optimum file size which will provide the best possible picture quality, sound quality and player compatibility. During this process I am also able to repair all types of potential issues associated with video production and polish editing cues prior to rendering a final version to ensure delivery of a top-quality product.
A Wild, Wild Party "No Tongue" Old-Fashioned Love Story * The soundboard at The Footlight Club unfortunately provided technical difficulties during the filming of "Wild Party." The result was that the audio feed from the microphones on the actors and in the orchestra pit was intermittently lost throughout the entire second act. The feed however from microphones placed on the stage and in the audience were not affected, but you may notice a slight volume change at random spots for about half of the duration of the second act. The sound editor for 1222pm has done his best to minimize the effects and to smooth the transition between lost sections of audio. Again, this occurs in the SECOND ACT only. ** Rendering is the computing process which converts the non-linear editing program data (including video, audio and any post-production modifications of these raw files) and compiles it into one continuous stream which can then be placed on media such as DVD and Blu-ray discs. This process can also be thought of as "saving" the final media file. Rendering times vary widely depending on the format desired. For example, "Wild Party" has an approximate running time of 100 minutes - to render a 100 minute, high quality, standard definition DVD video file will take ±10 hours. To render a 100 minute, high quality, high definition (1080p) Blu-ray video file will take ±24 hours. The Footlight Club - Seussical - November 2011 A clip from Seussical.
